Celebrated every May since 1963, Older Americans Month (OAM) is a time to recognize older Americans' contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm commitments to serving the older adults in our communities. This year’s theme, "Flip the Script on Aging," focuses on the importance of combating ageism to transform how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging by challenging stereotypes and highlighting the benefits of healthy aging.
At Carquinez Village, we believe that when we shift the way we approach aging, we shift what’s possible. Aging is a powerful continuation of growth, wisdom, and purpose. We see aging as a time of opportunity, connection, and impact.
At Carquinez Village, we work to build and provide a community offering social connection, personal support services, and lifelong learning opportunities to older adults living in Benicia and Vallejo. We are dedicated to enhancing the ability of each of our Villagers to live joyful, independent, and fulfilling lives as we age in the comfort and safety of our own homes and communities. Our Villagers live with the peace of mind knowing that we can rely on our Village to be there when we need it most.
