HOW TO DONATE. IT’S EASY!
Donations go to our “Sustainability Fund” unless you choose a different fund. We use the word “sustainable” for the ongoing effort to provide viability and stability for Carquinez Village, both today and in the future.
Donations are tax-deductible.
CARQUINEZ VILLAGE FUNDS
We are grateful to all of our donors and supporters who are making a difference in the lives of our older adults. They illustrate the principle that “It takes a village.” Every gift, no matter how large or small, is significant. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization (EIN: 47-4133336), all donations are tax-deductible in accordance with IRS regulations. Donations may be made in honor of or in memory of others. If you would like to join our contributors and have questions about donating, please contact us at 707-297-2472.
We welcome contributions to our general operations and to the support and expansion of the activities and services that we provide for our members. As our membership grows, more volunteers are needed to provide services. We look forward to the time when we can hire a staff person to manage our operations. In the meantime, we want you to know that we are cautious in our financial management and careful in the use of our donors’ contributions. We maintain a reserve fund so that we will be able to serve our members in difficult times.
Volunteer Appreciation Fund
Our volunteers are amazing! They never stop giving, and our members know that. Our drivers, for example, are dogged in their determination to assist our members. Not only are they giving their time, but they are covering the cost of gas. With today’s high cost of fuel, this is expensive. This fund helps to support our volunteer recognition events and gives members a way to show their appreciation for the services they receive.
Supported Membership Fund
By choosing this fund, you help to support older adults who cannot afford the full membership fee to reap the benefits of being part of a vibrant community that keeps them comfortable in their homes and connected to others.
OTHER OPTIONS FOR DONATING
Qualified Charitable Distribution
When you are 70½ or older, you may give a gift to Carquinez Village directly from an IRA, with no tax implications. You may also designate the purpose of your gift. A QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION may help to lower your income taxes on your IRA withdrawals while providing a charitable gift. Such a gift will also count towards a required minimum distribution (RMD), if you need to take one. A transfer of up to $100,000 may be made in a year tax-free, even if you do not itemize deductions. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA.
Donate a Vehicle
At no cost to you, Car Donations, Inc. will take your unwanted vehicle and convert it to cash for Carquinez Village. With one phone call you are giving to your community, receiving a tax deduction, and saving yourself the time of selling a vehicle yourself. Most vehicles are accepted, running or not.
Many companies will match donations to qualified organizations, even for retirees. Check with the company you work for or have retired from to see if they would match your donation to Carquinez Village.
When you make a planned gift to Carquinez Village, you create an enduring legacy to benefit older adults in your community.
