Options for Aging in Place: Featuring Janet Duffy, RN
Aging in place can take many forms. While most people envision staying in their own home, it may not be possible. We will discuss a range of options, from in-home care to assisted living to skilled nursing facilities. Understanding the levels of care, autonomy, and opportunities for optimal health and aging as abilities change. Understanding each setting can help you and others prepare for complex decisions in the future.
Speaker Biography
Janet Duffey, MSN, RN, CS, is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s Degree in Geriatric and Mental Health Nursing. She has over 40 years of clinical experience in cardiac care, oncology, substance abuse treatment, mental health, and home health nursing. Janet is a Professor Emeritus at Napa Valley College and currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at California State University, Sacramento.
