The Carquinez Model Railroad Society is having an open house on Oct 25th. This exceptional scale model  recreates the Oakland to Sparks route of the 1940s.  The route is 16 scale miles.  Expect to see  passenger trains and freight trains...on the model and of course on our real Carquinez Strait.

 

There is a long outside staircase to reach the facility, so the site is not accessible to some.

 

Need a ride?  Check on the list of your fellow participants, and use the comments sections to let us know if you want to help with rides or are offering rides.  If you would like, you can meet Bob at the 9th Street parking lot and we can all leave together.  If you would rather just meet at the event, we will see you there at 10:15.
