'A Matter of Balance': Award-winning fall prevention program, FREE and open to the public.
Do you have concerns about falling? You're not alone. 25% of older adults age 65+ experience falls annually; 37% of which lead to injuries requiring medical attention or mobility restriction. Join trained instructors from Carquinez Village for this 3rd annual, 4-week, 8-session program at the JFK Library in Vallejo.
Classes meet every Tuesday & Thursday for 4 weeks, 1pm - 3pm, Sept 16 through Oct 8
SPACE LIMITED TO 12 STUDENTS! Wait list available once class is full.
** You must commit to at least 6 of the 8 sessions to complete the program.
In this 4-week course, you will learn to:
- View falls as controllable
- Set goals for increasing activity
- Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
- Exercise in ways designed to increase strength & balance

- Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
- Anyone who has fallen in the past
- Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns
