Carquinez Village is a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit organization. Any and all donations are tax deductible.


Carquinez Village is guided by a Governing Board of 13 community leaders each of whom serves for a minimum of one two-year term. The Board is responsible for: 1) overseeing and implementing the activities and services of the Village; 2) establishing the policies that guide the Village; 3) assuming financial oversight; and 4) ensuring that the Village operates according to the standards and requirements of 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations.


With occasional exceptions, the Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Heritage Presbyterian Church Community Hall, 1400 East Second Street, Benicia.  Visitors are encouraged and welcomed.  The 2019 meeting dates are: June 4, July 2, August 6, September  3, October 1, November 5, December 3.

2019 Board Members


Carquinez Village is a volunteer organization that depends on the commitment, talents, and spirit of volunteers who manage the planning, organization, and delivery of the administrative work of the Village. (Many other volunteers deliver the supportive services that the Village offers.) The working committees are as follows:


Ø  Communications
Promotes awareness and understanding of Carquinez Village and its activities through print media, social media, and the website; oversees the coordination and production of materials.

Ø  Finance
Oversees sound fiscal management of Carquinez Village; builds and manages the budget; coordinates with the bookkeeper; provides monthly reports; ensures audits are completed as required.

Ø  Governance
Ensures strong leadership and management of Carquinez Village; oversees the nominations and elections of officers; develops plans and strategies to support the sustainability of Carquinez Village.

Ø  Member Services
Works with members to ensure that they are obtaining value from their membership in Carquinez Village with the goal of having each member enjoying a high-quality experience.

Ø  Outreach
Maintains a relationship with Solano County organizations serving older adults; conduct outreach to nonprofit, governmental, and business organizations to build partnerships and inform them of the activities and services of Carquinez Village; conducts outreach to attract and enroll members of Carquinez Village.

Ø  Programs and Activities
Designs and delivers a portfolio of social, educational, and cultural programs and activities that connect and stimulate members.

Ø  Services and Volunteers
Attracts, trains, and supports volunteers: 1) delivers the agreed-upon supportive services; 2) monitors the services, making recommendations to add or delete services as appropriate.

Ø  Virtual Office Services

Manages the technology-driven systems of Carquinez Village in order to ensure that data is collected and managed, reports are available, membership is tracked, contacts are maintained, history is recorded, and Board members and others (as appropriate) are trained to use the system.
