Speaker Series: Saving Monarch Butterflies
Join us for an inspiring talk led by the Monarch Milkweed Project, a local grassroots effort dedicated to educating, propagating and advocating for western monarch butterflies and their essential habitat.
Did you know that the iconic monarch butterfly depends exclusively on milkweed plants for the caterpillar stage of its life-cycle? And that monarch populations are facing a dramatic decline because the milkweed they need is disappearing?
This presentation will show how a simple backyard or neighborhood patch of milkweed can become a powerful conservation step, right here in Benicia and Vallejo!
This event is free and open to the public. Don’t miss this important opportunity to gain insight and ask questions in a supportive environment.
Sponsored by Benicia Public Library and Carquinez Village.
The Dona Benicia room at the Benicia Library has an Assisted Listening System. To get access to this system the city must be contacted in advance. Hearing access can be provided by contacting Suzanne Thorson at 707-746-4382 or by email at adacoordinator@ci.benicia.ca.us.
